My work draws inspiration from the ecology and survival strategies of flowers. Flowers are beautiful and delicate, yet they possess a strong vitality that allows them to adapt to their environment, survive, and thrive. I am interested in the contrast between their outward beauty and their inner strength. In my work, I express the dynamism of life through the expansion and overlapping of abstract organic forms. I also incorporate the flow of paint and forms that emerge by chance into the canvas, bringing the unpredictable changes and processes of creation in the natural world into my work. Using the ecology of flowers as a guide, I contemplate the regeneration and prosperity of life, and the cycle of life and death.
