At “Ritzwell: Furniture and the Art of Handcraft,” we shine a spotlight on thick leather, one of the signature materials that underpin Ritzwell’s design philosophy.
Because of its simplicity, thick leather reveals the skill of the craftspeople all the more clearly. Through live demonstrations by artisans from the Itoshima Seaside Factory, we introduce the four key processes—“cut,” “polish,” “stitch,” and “weave.”

By engaging with the traces of handwork—details that cannot be fully appreciated by looking at finished furniture alone—we hope this exhibition will create an encounter between the maker and the user, and offer a renewed appreciation of the depth and appeal of Ritzwell furniture.

Ritzwell is a Japanese brand that handles everything from design and development to manufacturing and sales. Since its founding, the brand has cherished its unique worldview. To bring this philosophy to life, the Itoshima Seaside Factory was established in the heart of nature in Itoshima. With a steadfast commitment to materials and the environment, each artisan hones their sensibilities while engaging sincerely with every piece. This factory was born from the belief that a carefully finished piece of furniture can truly enrich and stay close to the user's life.

Ritzwell Osaka Showroom

The Ritzwell Osaka showroom is located on the second floor of Dojima River Forum, a complex consisting of a multipurpose hall, gallery, cafe, and luxury rental apartments. The interior design was created by Fukuoka architect Masakatsu Matsuyama, and every corner is filled with elements that evoke a sense of high-quality comfort. It is a rich expression of Ritzwell's goal of creating "beautiful furniture that is understated yet exudes a strong presence."
