Takero Kanō solo exhibition "The Interior as Scene"
ARFLEX OSAKA is pleased to present "The Interior as Scene", an exhibition of works by painter Takero Kanō.
This exhibition considers the interior space in which artworks are displayed as a single “landscape,” and reexamines the comfortable relationship between art and interior design that ARFLEX has proposed through its LIFE with ART project. The delicate textures of paint and the subtle gradations of brushwork emerge softly under the gentle lighting of an interior setting, revealing a warm, intimate expression that differs from the uniform illumination of a gallery (white cube), and instead resonates with everyday living.
Through ARFLEX’s ongoing exploration and the works of Takero Kanō, both of which have continually engaged with the relationship between living spaces and painting, we invite you to experience the richness of incorporating art into daily life, as well as discover new ways of displaying it at ARFLEX OSAKA.

Takero Kanō
When hung on the wall, Kanō's works fill the space with a soft atmosphere. His style, which began by painting pictures of trees to decorate rooms, reminds us that art is a part of our everyday lives. The texture of oil paints and sometimes bold touches are also part of his appeal. In addition to exhibiting his works, he also holds workshops, performs live shows, illustrates book covers, and collaborates with apparel brands.
