Students who experienced the city of Namba on foot recreated the charm of the town as city blocks on various scales.

The old shopping streets, the bustle of street stalls, and the detailed decorations of the stylized architecture,

all give Namba a sense of humor and enthusiasm that is uniquely Osaka.

There is a mixture of the ordinary and the unusual that tickles the senses.

We reinterpreted this intersection of the ordinary and the unpractical,

and by manipulating the scale, we created another image of Namba in the office space.

The Department of Living Environment focuses on human life and considers the space, the house, and the town from the perspective of daily activities. Designs take into account a wide range of sizes, from the everyday discoveries of the naves to the future of the town. In the Living Space Design Laboratory, we explore the attractiveness and possibilities of living spaces through design in the community, such as renovation of tenements, use of vacant houses, and DIY of old houses.
