Osaka Museum of Fine Arts
Osaka Museum of Fine Arts opened in 1936 as the third public art museum in Japan. The main building became a registered tangible cultural property in 2015 as a rare example of a large prewar art museum. The museum's collection of approximately 8,700 objects includes a wide variety of paintings, calligraphy, sculpture, and crafts, and is particularly notable for its collection of Chinese and Japanese art by business figures active in the Kansai region.
