GHENJU
I began my career in architectural design. Seeking the source of Zen culture, which I had been familiar with since childhood, I spent three years undergoing Zen training at the specialized dojo of Kennin-ji, the head temple of the Rinzai sect. After that, I shifted to the field of architectural construction, where I gained experience in a full range of responsibilities, including sales, design, estimation, contracts, and construction.
Starting in January 2022, I began sharing my own original motif—which I had envisioned since I was 18—on Instagram. Drawing on Japanese techniques that utilize “natural materials,” such as “traditional architectural craftsmanship” and “craft architecture,” I plan to present my actual works starting in 2024.
