Art from the Dead Sea in Israel
“When I Go” is an exhibition of salt sculptures, video and a series of photographs which were all created in the saline water of the Dead Sea. A unique laboratory and inspiration for Landau. Together these works depict the dissonances, the gasping and the glittering of a contested land. A lament; this installation dwells upon cultural memory, metamorphosis and ecological destruction.

The Umekita area is attracting public attention as a new landmark in Osaka. On the first floor of the South Building of Grand Front Osaka, a gateway to this area, is a tranquil, sophisticated and aesthetically appealing space: The ESTNATION Osaka Store, a specialty store for mature people. Its extensive interior space, with a ceiling height of 4.5 meters, is filled with soft natural light. The circular counter placed in the center is reminiscent of an information desk at a museum, with its gentle curves providing harmony to the entire space. As you walk around the store, your eye will be caught by clothes displayed like artworks together with genuine contemporary artworks casually exhibited next to them. The exhibition of these artworks is curated in conformity with the store’s concept, creating a new world of beauty that combines fashion and art. The VIP lounge, surrounded by clear glass walls, feels like an exhibit that transcends their daily lives, freeing them from the hustle and bustle of their days and inviting them to a moment of bliss.
A New Milestone for Artists to Reach
The ESTNATION Osaka Store values providing a special shopping experience for visitors, rather than just selling products. The Osaka Store is the only ESTNATION store that has a gallery space. Based on the brand concept “The Essence of Luxury,” the store has taken up the challenge of displaying not only artworks but also works and products in all genres. The criteria for the selection of its exhibits are universality, an avant-garde spirit, intelligence, allure, and the stories they tell. Currently, the store mainly exhibits contemporary artworks, but it aims to curate exhibitions of a wider range of works, thereby providing new artists with a place to demonstrate their talents. Recently, the store has been receiving inquiries from an increasing number of artists. For the future, the store plans to feature artists from a wide range of genres, regardless of age, gender, or nationality, in addition to young artists.
Collaborating with a Globally Renowned Artist
During Osaka Art & Design 2025, the ESTNATION Osaka Store will exhibit works by Israeli artist Sigalit Landau. The salt crystal sculptures she makes in the Dead Sea can be best described as “cool, stylish, and sophisticated” and blend perfectly into the neutral interior atmosphere of the Osaka Store, where glass and stainless steel are used extensively. Store manager Ryotaro Masuyama says that he was fascinated not only by the beauty of Landau’s works but also by the stories behind them. Her hometown and creation process suggest her strong commitment to minute work, which resonates with the philosophy of ESTNATION: “Drawing color of Life.” Through this collaboration, the ESTNATION Osaka Store has set a new goal of becoming a place that attracts attention from people around the world.
